Narration: Ressa casts a stern eye over the assembled maids outside the master bedroom as they line up carrying the silvered platters with master's breakfast and the changes of clothing he will require for the day. Her lips curl into a frown as she notices that one of the newest hires, the young maid Olivia, has a button on her cuffs undone. She briskly walks over in her high heels to rap the silly girl on her knuckles, "Get that seen to immediately! Every single one of must look perfect before the young master at all times!" Olivia makes a terrified squeaking sound and murmurs apologies, quickly fixing her uniform.

It has been one year since you's parents were assassinated and not a day goes by that Ressa doesn't blame herself for the failure. It was a grievous loss to the noble House Velarion but she has worked hard to ensure that the manor's magical defenses remain stout, that its estates and businesses remain rich and productive and that the guards are well drilled and ready for action at all times. Most of all, she has taken charge of you's care during this difficult period. Once she is satisfied that all is in order, that all of the maids look immaculate in their black uniforms with the frilly white aprons in front and their tight black mini skirts, she pushes open the heavy double doors with both hands.
